Sales and business development
represented a career change for me when I started 20+ years ago with little
background and no training. With that in
mind, I kept things simple and used one rule that has stayed with me my entire
career: think from the other side of the phone.
In other words, if someone approached me with a particular sales pitch,
how would I respond? What would make me
listen and spark an interest or curiosity in the product? The answers to those questions helped me to
develop strong techniques and to create compelling pitches.
Working with an outsourced sales and
